Free Dental New York NYC

If you are looking for free dental care treatment in NYC then there are quite a few places that you can find it at. These free clinics have a tie up with the insurance company or the government and serve you on their behalf. Once you have decided which clinic is the most convenient for you to go to for your free dental treatment you will need to call and fix an appointment. This needs to be done as soon as possible as dentists have only a few slots in their time schedules which they allocate for free treatments.

These dental clinics offer services that are everything that you will need for your dental care. So, they will cover not only your basic primary care to patient education and disease prevention and screening. The only amount that you will pay at these free dental clinics is the amount for medicines which will not be more than $15 for generic medicines. If you need any further care from a specialist then they will guide you to them. This too will not cost you anything.

The New York Health care department also offers free dental checkups and screenings for adults and children. These health camps usually go on for a month and hence lots more people can avail of these free services. There are also national initiatives to provide free dental care for children to enable them to smile trouble free. In these camps there is preventive and restorative care that is offered.

There are dental colleges such as NYU College of Dentistry or the Columbia University dental school. There are also voluntary hospitals which provide free dental care in NYC. These are LIJ, Queens General, Mary Immaculate and St. Johns. The NY State dental society has also set up a program for free care which is a voluntary contribution by the dentists of the state.

The dental schools will charge you only for the x-rays and a few materials or else everything will be free. The price for anything that you might need for the dental treatment and which is going to be charged will be quoted to you beforehand hence you will know what you need to pay. Sometimes the chief dentist themselves will work on you while the students observe them do the procedure. There in you are getting the expertise and experience of the doctor for the cost of nothing at all.

There are free mobile dental vans that are sponsored by companies such as Colgate which have free dental screenings and treatments. There is a Colgate Bright Smiles Foundation program set up that will offer free dental care to people in the NYC area to cannot afford it.
Therefore, all that you will need to do is spend some time finding out the right opportunities that are there for free dental care. You will certainly be able to find one that suits your needs and is right for you.

Hi TRISTON,If the wisdom teeth are causing problem then it is better to get them pulled out.You can do warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day for some relief.Make sure that there is no food accumulation in the back of jaw which can aggravate the pain. You can avoid eating from the side of erupting wisdom tooth and visit a dentist(preferably oral surgeon) for evaluation.Dentist will take an x-ray to see the positioning of the wisdom tooth. If wisdom tooth is impacted, then surgical tooth extraction of wisdom tooth can be done. You can talk to your oral surgeon if you can pay in installments after getting your wisdom teeth removed. You can also approach some of the dental schools near your place where treatment provided is cheap for getting your wisdom teeth removed. Quality of treatment provided by various dental schools is not bad either.Hope that helps.Keep us updated.

Hi, I have a wisdom tooth that has grown in but somehow it is either chipped or not fully grown in. I am mising part of the tooth at the gum line, I am unsure. I can not take the pain any more it hurts to drink water or if the weather is cold out it starts to throb. It also randomly starts hurting at different hours of the day. Where might I be able to go to get a temp fix until I get the money to have it removed?

Jamie, before going to dentist apply an ice pack over it to reduce the swelling and take some over the counter pain killer like ibuprofen. This will help in reducing the pain. Now for a free dental care you can visit a nearby dental school. There the treatment is though done by budding dentists but under the supervision of experienced faculty. There are chances of getting a free treatment or treatment at very less cost as compared to private practitioners. Else you can get treatment under NHS scheme.

Lea, Yes you should go to an Oral surgeon only as it is surgical extraction. if you donot have insurance then you can try some dental school where all specialities are present and sometimes they do free treatment but definately it is cheaper than the private dentists.

I am in need of an oral surgen. I have a tooth where the root split in half sideways and it cannot be extracted the regular way. I do not have insurance and I am afraid that it will become infected.

Janice, you have to google for announcements for free dental clinics in your area. You can browse ADA.Org for these kind of announcements by dentists. You can also try dental schools in NYC or NJ area where sometimes the dental treatment is done free of cost as they need patients for budding dentists.
