Krista, To make teeth look whiter with braces, you can opt for darker shades of bands like blues, purples and reds. Better not opt for lighter shades like yellows and whites as they get stained easily and looks bad. Its is the bands which are colored and not the brackets so if you don't like a particular color, then you can opt for some other color next month.

Im going to be getting braces soon. i am 12, and i need help getting good colors that wont make my teeth yellow and or the braces look dis- colored. please email me colors that help teeth look white. thank you for the help

Lucy, I saw your profile on facebook. In my opinion, you can opt for blues or purple for braces color. Darker shades will make your teeth look whiter than what they are and will look nice on you. Don’t opt for lighter shades like whites and yellow as they get stained easily and look bad. It is the bands which are colored and not the brackets so if you don’t like a particular color, then you can opt for some other color next month. Bands are to be changed after every month. With braces treatment, it becomes even more important to maintain good oral hygiene. Brush and floss your teeth regularly with dental braces.

Hi, I am getting braces on Monday, and I don't know what color/colors to get!! I don't want it to look like I have food stuck in my teeth or something like that.
I have light brown hair, hazel eyes, and reeeaaaallly pale skin!!!
I also have tiny teeth that are close together, and I want them to still look visible, so what shade would be best for me?

Hien, You can opt for red, purple or blue, color dental braces. These are bright colors and will make your teeth look brighter than what they are. Better not opt for lighter shades like yellows and whites as lighter shades get stained easily and look bad.

Hi, Dr. Ritz! I got braces a month ago and I chose a turquoise color. I want to go with something else that makes my teeth look brighter. My hair is black and I have dark brown eyes. I'm Vietnamese. Any tips on which color to use?

you should eat icecream or pudding or smoothies something soft and you should do dark blue and purple dark colors mmake your teeth look whitter

Hey, Im getting my braces in two days, in currently have separators in. Like everybody else on this page, I'm not sure what colours to get. I wanted to get a dark or light blue. I have light pinkish skin, brown hair and blue eyes. However, I have lots of pimples/zits on my face, and although it sounds petty and vain, am worried about them. Will the blue make them look worse? Thanks!

Amanda, Apart from pink color, you can get dark purple or blue or other darker shades for braces. Darker colors will make your teeth look whiter than what they are. Don't opt for lighter shades like yellow or white as they get stained easily and then look bad. You can get the color of the rubber bands of the braces changed after almost every month or two.

ive had my braces for 3 months i have never changed the color ive always toke with pink becuase it looks good but i want to try something new but i dont now what color i should do i have brown hair brown eyes if that helps lol i need help please im going in the moreing to the dentist

Don't opt for lighter shades as they get stained easily and looks bad later on. You can opt for any of the colors you want. If you don't like that color, later on you can get some other color for it as the color is for elastic bands which are to be changed almost every month.

you can opt for purple colour of braces. The braces will make you feel great with the purple colour on it.Lighter shade braces can get stained. You can also try blue if you want.The bands are coloured so if you don't like purple you can change it in the next visit and can get blue. don't worry much about it. purple coloured braces will look great.

Hi Haley, You don't have to be so confused about color of braces as this color is not of brackets which are attached to teeth but it is the elastic bands which are used to hold the wire and these are changed normally once in a month. You can just experiment with any color available with your Orthodontist. Whatever color you like, you can continue with that.
