Is there any connection amongst Bladder Infection and Chorea with Degenerative Diseases and Focal Infections.

The surprising link that has occurred between bladder infections and infections of the teeth and gums cannot be denied. This was found from patients who were so distressed with cystitis that he had to empty their bladder every few minutes. This can certainly be an extremely painful and embarrassing situation that one is in. however, with due attention given to their dental hygiene the infection in the bladder can subside within a few days or even a twenty four hours. One such case was of a man who had two infected teeth and the moment they were treated he was able to hold on to urine for as long as five hours. The thing about attention deficit disorders or as they are frequently known as Chorea Hyperactivity amongst adults is about the involuntary movements of the limbs and the facial muscles. There are several parents who get worried about these when they spot them in their children. There was this instance of a nine year old patient whose mother brought him to the doctor with tear streaming down her cheeks as she was worried about his behavior. She termed the child as wicked as no one wanted him. Neither the teachers or the school as he had been found slapping the other children and resorting to violence and beating even when he wasn’t provoked or goaded to behave so. The parents were asked not to send the boy to school any longer and that was when they decided to consult a dentist for his teeth. The boy was found to have lost all power of coordination and had developed symptoms of irritability and chorea. While the roentgenograms of his teeth were done, he would be beating his face, without any kind of provocation to do so. Moreover, despite the lack of co-ordination, he was unable to sit still. The boy was found to be twitching and jerking and there was an involuntary muscular contraction like the kind that is seen in patients with this affliction. The boy would find his knees jerking and in order to camouflage that would start kicking and the same was to be with his hands. The involuntary reflexes of the hands would result in him swinging his hands as though an article were flying out of them. The teacher no wonder was as exasperated as it was humanly impossible to control these movements in the child. That is when the doctors spoke to the mother and informed her that her boy was not doing this on intent. Rather he was unable to control his mind and muscles and that was the result of his behavior. The cortex in the brain that had the capacity to control movements was hampered possibly from infection in the teeth. When the infection was removed the boy would reach a normal stage. The boy had to undergo a lot of sittings as it was not easy to remove the caries from the deciduous teeth and the infected pulps. These were inoculated into rabbits to study them. The rabbits were found to develop several acute nervous system problems. This was noticed in the rabbits that even without the slightest provocation or excitement their nervous system would be disturbed. The rabbits would fall on to one side without the ability to control themselves. When the sections that were made from the cortex of the brain were looked at it showed multiple petechial pinpoint bleeding spots and diplococcal zone hemorrhages. This was the reason behind the irritability and the violence that was projected. This is the perfect picture of an individual affected by chorea.
