Braces after gum disease/root resorption

Hello,
I had braces several years ago, which did not work out as planned, and I would like to get them again because I am very self-conscious about my teeth.
I am also having problems with my gums and some root resorption (which I am about to have).
However, a while back someone told me that because of the root resorption, I would never be able to get braces again.
Can anyone tell me if this is true?

If you want to go for the braces treatment the orthodontist will decide after seeing the condition of your teeth and after taking X-ray's ,whether the treatmet is possible or not. If you have gums problem then that will be treated first before going for the braces treatment. If the root resorption is acute then it is not possible to have the braces treatment as in braces treatment the teeth are moved to the desired position by putting the pressure. This can further accelerates the bone resoption and can cause the mobility in the teeth.
