Broken tooth fragement left

A half broken tooth was just loose & i removed it taking 10 days to unroot it , eventually it came out without any harm to me but i then felt that a small little piece of tooth just size of a sugar left back.
so iam worried that my gums will cover up the hole & the tooth might get buried with the skin over it , creating problem in future
Kindly advice

You shouldn't try anything related to mouth at home. This can lead to further infection thereby worsening the condition. You are right if the bone fragment has been left then with time it will be covered by gums and can cause infection. so, i would suggest you to visit the dentist and get the remaining tooth fragement surgically removed....The procedure won't hurt you....You can have a brief idea of the procedure in the link....http://www.identalhub.com/dental-what-is-simple-tooth-extraction-procedure-886.aspx
