I would like to have teeth and simply cannot afford it.

If  the teeth are misssing then you should go for the replacement otherwise the bone loss is there and it becomes difficult to have them. If you can not affordt o have them you can approach the dental school where the procedures are cheap and you can opt for the removable dentures as they are much cheaper than the fixed one.
