Fissure sealant is the prevntive treatment for children. It is done in the back teeth and is done so that they do not get decayed. Normally it is recomended when the teeth have deep fissures. They act as the retainer for food and hence the decay. To stop this the fissures are sealed with pit and fissure sealant.
