By Toniesha 3/9/2017 12:43:24 AM
I have little indentions in my front two teeth and what to know why I have them. I have gone to the dentist regularly and they do not know why I have them. All they know is that there is nothing wrong with them, but what are they called?

There are various causes of indentations in the front teeth. When the front adult teeth just erupt they have indentatations but that goes in 6 months or a year. they are called mamelons. These are the developmental grooves and they wear off with time gradually. But later in age the indentatations develop if you are in the habit of holding something from the front teeth very frequently like a pin or pencil. The enamel being thin wear off. It can be there because of some trauma. So with out seeing the case clinically it is difficult to give the diagnosis in your case.
