Intolerable ear ache radiating down into my jaw

By Brandi 7/17/2011 1:22:43 AM
About a month ago I had the teeth near my wisdom teeth rebuilt. I am going back to the dentist next week to have the other side rebuilt and schedule an appointment to remove my wisdom tooth. I am now experiencing sharp pains in the left side of my ear, its as though the pain shoots right down my ear canal to upper and lower jaw, its also making my neck hurt. Some of the pain is tolerable, very frequently the pain spikes to uncontrollable levels. I have taken ibuprofen and it has not helped at all. Is there anything I can do to relive the pain in the mean time? I really hurt and don’t know what to do. Please help me.

From your symptoms it looks like that pain is due to infection in the tooth. It can be due to wisdom tooth or the tooth you got built or supposed to get billed. The diagnosis can be confirmed only after clinical examination and radiographic examination. If it is due to wisdom teeth then already you are scheduled for its pullout but if it is due to teeth in front of wisdom teeth then may be you have to go for Root Canal Treatment.  Till then you can maintain good oral hygiene so that food impaction is not there to aggavate the pain and take pain killer tabs sos. You can apply clove oil in that area to relieve the pain.
