loose tooth and the osseous surgery

By anne 5/31/2011 11:32:25 AM
i had a seizure and fell on my face loosening one of my top front teeth, about 6 months ago. a periodontist says i need an "osseous surgery" to add cow bovine to the looser tooth. the tooth seems to be tightening up and not feeling really loose anymore. do i still need to have the surgery?

The tooth if it is healthy then it gets tightened if there is no bone loss after the fall. in your case also if you take proper precautions like not biting from the front teeth and maintaining good oral hygeine, then the tooth will become tightened. The osseous surgery is done when there is bone loss and with out seeing the case clincally and with out seeng the X-ray's it is difficult to comment on that.
