My boyfriend carries a tootbrush with him so he can brush wherever he is. Problem is--he doesn't keep it covered. He'll sometimes have it in his jacket pocket, completely exposed, walking in the subway, streets, parks, etc. He thinks it's okay, because he rinses it out before he brushes with it, although I feel it's unsanitary. What are the dangers, if any, of his doing this?

Tooth brushes should not be covered or stored in closed container as moist environment is more conducive for the growth of microbes than open air.To maintain hygiene, tooth brush can be soaked in antibacterial mouth rinse after use. Also, there are several tooth brush sanitizers available in the market.Disposable tooth brushes might also be considerd as an option.
