Pain Even After Dry Socket Treatment

By pat 6/18/2012 1:18:30 AM
On May 17th I had 2 bottom molars extracted. I had dry socket and saw my oral surgeon for the first two weeks to have it packed. At the end of two weeks he released me with instructions to return in two weeks if needed. I can still see the bone and experience pain when the area is touched. Should I return to my oral surgeon? And if so what other treatment is available since the packing didn't work?

Dont touch or poke the area. Healing process post dry socket takes some time. You just follow the instruction as given to you by the oral surgeon. Do warm saline gargles twice to thrice daily along with the medications. Avoid smoking, spitting and taking juice WITH STRAW. Take adequate rest and rinse your mouth everytime you eat something...for detailed info you can visit the link...http://www.identalhub.com/dental-what-is-dry-socket-879.aspx
