Red bump on the gums of the front teeth

By Tammy 5/31/2011 11:21:15 AM
I have a red bump on my gum at the lining of my front teeth. The dentist wants to do a biopsy instead of start me on an antibiotic. He took an x ray and didn't find anything major. Why wouldn't he give me the antibiotic?

Red bump on the gum line of the front tooth can be because of either trauma or the infection. The biopsy is needed if it is there for some time and is not responding to the treatment. it is difficult to comment with out seeing the case clinically whether biopsy is needed or not. if you are not satisfied than you can consult some other dentist. for more info on gum diseases you can visit the following link...www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-gum-diseases-9.aspx
