Root after extraction of the tooth

Hello. My dentist extracted my third molar tooth because I had managed to break it. Anyway he did the extraction but he says he'll now have to surgically remove the roots. I feel okay now so is that necessary? I mean is it really necessary to go back to him to extract the roots as well?

when a tooth is extacted, the whole tooth is extracted that is the crown part and the root part. If the roots are still inside then you have to get them extracted as they can get infected and cause you problem later on. it is not advisable to keep them . Now may be it is not causing any problem but later on the roots can cause the problem. For more info on wisdom tooth extraction you can visit the following link on our website.....
