Severe Pain in the Left Side of Jaw and Mouth

By omer 7/15/2010 7:54:28 PM
All of my mothers teeth have been extracted during the last 3-4 yrs.A dry socket was done by a local dentist 2 yrs back by a local dentist due to difficult extraction of two lower teeth. After that she experienced severe pain in the lower left jaw. About 5 months back the upper left Buccal Plate was broken during extraction. It has worsened the pain severely which now radiates towards the temple. Now all the teeth have been extracted but still there is a dull aching pain with frequent attacks of severe throbbing pain and sinking heart. She is really depressed with even thoughts of suicide. She is taking tab.LOREZEPAM 3-4mg and MEFNEMIC ACID 500mg daily but to little effect. PLEASE Advice us on what should be done to reduce the pain.

You have not mentioned when the last tooth was extracted as the pain can be there because of the dry socket  which can be there because of the extraction of the last tooth. If it is not so and complete healing has taken place then it can be because of the neuralgia. In that case you have to consult some oral surgeon.
