after whitening my teeth one night at home i noticed a crack in my front tooth. i went to my dentist the next day and he said that it was not all the way through the tooth and that it was ok to continue whitening my teeth. but now i am scared to do so. i would like a second opinion about it.

Tooth whitening procedures donot cause any crack in teeth. It must be present before but not visible. Normally also, in the front teeth, crack lines are seen, which are normal anatomical structures. You should be worried if it is thru and thru and you have symptoms like sensitivity or pain in the tooth. You can carry on with normal whitening procedures. If you are very much concerned then you can get an xray done to see the extent of crack. However in my opinion the dentist is right in recommending to continue with tooth whitening procedure.
