Throbbing Pain after wisdom tooth extraction

By Melissa 4/7/2012 11:11:11 AM
I had my wisdom teeth surgically removed 5 days ago. I now have throbbing pain in my last molar - NOT the extraction site - that responds to ice placed directly on the molar but persists as soon as cold is removed. It is also sensitive to pressure. Percocet takes the edge off. My question: could this be displaced pain from a dry socket? My oral surgeon warned me that I was at risk for this complication before the procedure. Or is it more likely something was nicked during surgery?

it is difficult to comment with out seeing the case clinically. It can be referred pain due to the dry socket or it can be because of the pain in the moalr tooth. You have to go to the dentist and get it diagnosed . The treatment will be done accordingly. if it is because of dry socket then the dentist will do the dressing with the dry socket paste and if it is because of some other tooth then it will be treated.
