tooth extraction for braces
By javid 2/8/2010 8:13:43 PM
hi, i had gone for a consultation to my dentist for braces. i am 25 year old and i wanted to get the lingual braces. my dentist said i had to have 4 teeth removed to create space for the teeth to move 4 premolars. my question is, if 4 teeth are removed, once the teeth goes back in will the extraction gap be completely filled. i am really concerned about that and have spoked to patients with extractions and have seen people for whom the extractions gap have not completely been filled. i am really concerned about this. please help me out. how long will it take for the gaps to be filled. in case after treatment the gaps are not filled is it possible to get implants in the 4 spots? thank you...javid

If you need extractions for aligning the teeth, then your teeth must be needing that much of space for the proper alignment and if the extractions are done, the extraction gap is completely filled by moving the other teeth on that place. Mostly the space is not left but the teeth relapse if the retainers are not properly worn after the treatment otherwise there is no extraction gap left. So there is no chance of ending up with implants.
