Dental infections can increase your chances of a heart stroke

Not many people have ever thought of this but the oral health and the health of their teeth and gums has got a profound impact on their overall health. There has been a new study that has been conducted by Japanese researchers and it has showed that people who have less than 24 teeth in their mouth are more likely than the others to be the victims of heart diseases.

These Japanese researchers went on to study the impact of dental health of 358 patients and discovered that 50 to 60 of them with less than 24 teeth in their mouth have more of a likelihood of getting a heart stroke or heart disease. This is a huge percentage of as much as 57%.
There have been studies conducted before as well about the impact of dental care and the germs that are linked with it and what they can do to get into the arteries of the patients. These germs when they travel into the arteries ensure that they go ahead and block the arteries.
If you have persistent and long standing gum disease such as periodontal then there is more of a likelihood of you suffering from a fatal heart disease such as ischemic or a hemorrhagic stroke. There are other dangerous factors that are linked to it as well such as smoking, obesity and alcohol. All of these go on to aggravate the condition of dental infections and how they go on to affect the overall health of a person.
Studies have gone on to show that people start losing their teeth at the age of 40. Therefore, it is imperative that people start the use of dental care then in order to avoid the grave consequences that are linked with not doing so. This is one sure shot way of being able to avoid graver heart concerns.
