I would say increased and longer bleeding and slower to heal. Probably a higher percentage of the possibility of developing dry socket also. Not life threatening but very painful.
Our dentist took the extraction of my husband's teeth in preparation for his plate very slowly to allow plenty of time for things to heal and heal well because of his thyroid issues. Even though my husband is on medication, the dentist still wanted to take it slow and easy.
Follow your after care procedures to the letter especially the ice and the hot salt water rinses.
What are the precautions to be taken in a hypothyroid patients while dental extraction?
Extraction would make the cost 2000$.In case of crowding the teeth will only move back slightly.jaw position will not change.
without extraction the teeth will be outwards aligned.
I do not have wisdom teeth. They were removed years ago so the tooth in question is the second to the last on the bottom-a molar. Dentist said I needed a root canal, but I couldnt pay 2000. I had it removed which took him a good 45 minutes. It would NOT come out. Ended up being surgically removed. This was yesterday at 8:30am. It is a good 36+ hrs later and all of my teeth hurt in my mouth with the exception of the very back ones on the opposite side of my mouth. EVEN the TOP hurt. It's as if a top molar decided to join the crowd. Is it possible or a coincidence.I remember the Dr had to push and pull a lot so he may have aggravated my upper teeth. Can someone please give me some insight?
If the tooth that has to be extracted is not broken much, it has normal anatomy, it is not impacted and dentist feels that it is not fused with the bone , then normal extraction is done. In normal extraction there is no need to do bone cutting or to raise the flap so no sutures are given and healing is quick. In surgical extraction bone cutting may have to be done or flap has to be raised. The sutures has to be given and you have to take more precautions after the tooth extraction. Normally it is done if crown part of the tooth is lost and roots are left or the tooth is impacted or it is already root canal treated.
