  • Yes it is must to get the crown after Root Canal treatment if you really want that the tooth should stay for long. In Root canal treatment, the pulp which is vital part of tooth and contains all the nerves and vessel is removed and the tooth becomes non vital. The non vital tooth is brittle as compared to vital tooth which has elasticity and can easily combat the maticatory forces. The root canal treated tooth can fracture because of these chewing forces and so it has to be protected by giving crown. It is better even if you have sound enamel, go for crown after getting the final filling.
