  • Lump on roof of mouth can be there because of some trauma to the roof of mouth or can occur because of impingement of some sharp food stuff there. It can also be a canker sore. Bump on palate can also be there due to infection in the gum or tooth or can be torus palatinus. Trauma to roof of mouth can lead to pain and soreness and can cause swelling which usually regresses on its own in some time. Sharp food stuff impinging can also lead to pain and swelling of the area and after removal of impinging stuff, pain regresses. It can also be canker sores which are self limiting. Without clinical examination, it is difficult to give definite diagnosis. You can visit your dentist for evaluation. By the time you visit a dentist; you can apply orajel over it or can take otc pain med for some relief. Doing warm saline rinses may provide some relief.
