i just had a root canal procedure, and i ve been told that my tooth might just break at anytime because now after we removed the nerve it became so fragile, am so concerned, is that true? and if it is how can i prevent it from happening? and is there any other possible complications? thank you..

  • Yes, after root canal treatment, the tooth becomes brittle and is prone to fracture. So to prevent this, the crowns are given and in case of back teeth they are PFM crowns ie. porcelain fused to metal. These crowns encase the Root Canal Treated tooth and chances of tooth or falling out of filling can be avoided.
