  • If both the jaws are paining without any tooth ache, the most likely cause is that you are a tooth grinder i.e. you have the problem of bruxism. Sometimes some people, because of some stress keep clenching the teeth or they subconciously keep grinding the teeth. It can be in day time or at night and due to this the muscles of the jaws become sore and tender and hence there is pain. Some times the pain can be beacuse of when, due to tooth abrasion, the vertical height of the face is decreased and in this case also muscles become sore and there is pain in the jaw. For this you have to visit the dentist and get the diagnosis made. In case of bruxism or clenching of mouth, the dentist will find out the cause and give you treatment and most likely it will be a night guard. If the pain is beacause of decreased veritical height of face then the treatment depend upon the condition of your teeth.
