hello, i had my wisdom teeth (x4) in February 2009. i still have a hard patch of gum remaining on the right side where my tooth was removed. it is now in the shape of a pyramid, hard to teh touch, and whitish in color. it is painful and now the pain in radiating up to my ear and down the right side of my throat. there is no discharge from the site (no blood or puss, etc). could this be an infection? should i go see a dentist or doctor or will this go away? it seems to be getting worse. thanks so much. cecilia

  • Now it is more than a year you got your wisdom tooth extracted. If the site has not healed properly then it can be because of some sharp bony spicule which is left and not rounded off after extraction or some part of the tooth is left. You sould visit detist and take the proper treatment. Till then you can do warm saline rinses and massage the area locally with some good gum paint available OTC.
