i have 6 upper front teeth and will be getting implants for the side ones. can't decide how many i should get. 3 on each side or 2 with a bridge in between. what are the pros and cons. is there more risk and more pain if i get 3 individual ones on each side?

  • It depends upon which implants you are getting. iIke which teeth are being replaces. If they are molars then it is always better to get one implant for one tooth as maximum pressure or load is on the molars while chewing but if it is anterior to the molars then you can get bridge with two implants. When you are getting implants it does not matter whether they are 2 or 3. The discomfort and the pain factor is the same. Your dentist after seeing the condition of the bone and the teeth which has to be replaced will tell you about the number of implants needed.
