  • If the wisdom tooth is infected and has abscess in it, then it requires to be pulled out. To reduce the infection, you can take antibiotics after consulting your dentist. Only antibiotics will not serve the purpose. You need to get the roots of the tooth pulled out before the infection spreads further and cause complications. Wisdom teeth don’t aid in mastication and no treatment is usually done to save them.  If the infection is causing extreme pain, then you can place clove or clove oil over that site. Cotton with turmeric powder on it can be placed over the infected site for some relief. You can do warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day to reduce the swelling of the gums present in the area. Get the roots of the infected tooth pulled out asap before it further causes any complication.
