My lower jaw on the right side under my ear is swollen. I have no pain. I have to swallow to clear my ear passage. I had fillings done Feb 2010 on that side. I'm not near the dentist that completed the work any more.

  • The swelling can be because of the filling which was done in that area as sometimes the flling is very deep and after getting the filling, with time the pulp gets infected slowly and hence the swelling. Some times there is no pain as the process is chronic that is it is not acute. If you can not go to the dentist who has done the filling then you go to some other dentist who after doing the clinical examination and X-ray will make the diagnosis . If it is because of the same tooth which was filled then you have to get the root canal treatment done to save the tooth.
