the swolling is very bad under my jaw and cheek, i started taking amoxicillen 3 days ago. seems to be helping the pain and discomfort, but it is not draining.will the swolling go down if its not draining?

  • The antibiotics and pain killer tabs will give you relief in pain and discomfort and it will reduce the swelling also but it will not help in drainage. Normally the drainage is by making an access cavity in the tooth which is abscessed. So for this you have to go to dentist who will open the Root Canal for Root Canal Treatment and drain the abscess. By taking antibiotics, the swelling will definately reduce in size but if you donot get the treatment done then it will reoccur.
