I had a new anterior crown replacement in Nov 2010. There is a brown color showing between the top of crown and gumline. Is this normal? Do I need to speak to my dentist and how can this problem be resolved? With Appreciation

  • If it is Pfm then some times black color line is visible at the gum margin which is the metal but in case of front teeth dentist makes it sure that it does not show. If it is full ceramic crown then no line is visible. It is never the brown color. The brown color can be either the staining or the discolored tooth which is visible after the gums are receeded. It is difficult to comment on this without seeing the case clinically. You can talk to the dentist as it is not normal.
