I am having the last 8 upper teeth and 8 bottom teeth pulled on Monday. I was supposed to get my dentures at the same time. Because the dentures are not ready I won't get them until Thursday. Won't my gums be to swollen to have my dentures fitted then?

  • Normally immediate dentures are given just after the extractions before the swelling sets in. But in your case as the dentures are not ready you are getting them after 3 to 4 days. In normal extractions the swelling is there for 24 to 48 hours and as you are getting them after the longer duration so there should not be problem. Follow all the instructions given by your dentist like not to smoke or not to use the straw. Keep doing warm saline rinses after 24 hours. So that the secondary infections are not there. for more info on do's and don'ts after tooth extraction you can visit the following link....http://www.identalhub.com/article_do's-and-don'ts-after-tooth-extraction-153.aspx
