I am 55 and have been diagnosed with gum disease and was told I needed a $200+ deep cleaning and the insurance only pays for one side to be done at a time. $200+ per side. Do you recommend this or would using pro-health gum disease toothpaste and mouthwash help this problem?

  • If you are having gum disease and your dentist has recommended deep scaling (SCRP) then it is better you for that as it is reommended only when the gum disease in at advanced stage. Using pro health toothpaste and mouthwashes can give you some relief but it can not replace SCRP. If you donot get it done the condition will deteriorate and you can have bone loss with unhealthy gums and mobile teeth. The cost of SCRP is around $200 per quad and 2 quads are done in one day and next 2 after 3-7 days. Insurance does cover the SCRP but it depends on your dental insurance terms.
