My upper wisdom tooth on a angle has been hitting the end of my lower molar tooth(37). I have had a full root canal and crown placed on the molar yet the upper wisdom tooth still hits hard on the back of the molar. My dentist did not recognize this as I just did after a lot of pain and observation. He left for 2 wk holiday.. Can the upper wisdom be filed down to not connect with the molar????

  • If your upper wisdom tooth is hitting hard on the lower molar, then selective grinding can be done to have teeth in proper occlusion. Selective grinding can be done for minor corrections. If the wisdom tooth is a lot outside, and grinding doesn’t solve the purpose, then the dentist may remove the wisdom tooth.
