I had a gum infection over the weekend at the site of my wisdom teeth. THere is a flap of skin and Im waiting until I return home from college to get my wisdom teeth taken out (2 months). I ate bread this morning and i still taste the sugary taste of bread when i suck on my gums.... Will the bread dissolve by itself, if there is any? Will my gums push it out overnight, if there is any? How much worry should I give it? THanks

  • When the gums become swollen around the wisdom teeth it is called Pericoronitis. Try to keep the area clean by gentle brushing. Use warm saline rinses 2 to 3 times a day . If you do not  maintain good oral hygeine in this area then the condition can deteriorate and you can be in pain. It is better if you do warm saline rinses after every meal as it will clean the area or you can use  some good antimicrobial mouth wash.
