  • the dry socket is caused because the clot which is formed after extraction and which helps in healing is dislodged and the socket becomes infected. The smoking causes negative pressure in the mouth and even if you inhale or exhale through nose it can cause dry socket by dislodging the clot. So it is better to avoid smoking . the dry socket is very painful condtion and it takes lot of time and effort to be treated.
