I visit my dentist every 6 months for dental cleaning. The dental hygienist works hard at cleaning my teeth and my gums bleed during every visit. A few hours after each visit I ache all over my body and have a fever. This lasts for 48 hours. What is causing this problem? Is is my bleeding gums or am I allergic to the floride treatment?

  • This may be due to bleeding of gums or due to body reaction to the infection as your gums bleed. Fluoride is not known but fluoride toxcity is there and that happens if high dose of fluoride is ingested and symptoms are also nausia and vomitting. You have to talk to your dentist about these symptoms and next time before getting the cleaning you can take prophylactic dose of antibiotics. For more info on fluoride toxicity you can read this article from given link.. www.identalhub.com/article_flouride-delivery-system-415.aspx
