  • Some times the deposits are hard and it is difficult to remove them in one sitting and some times because of the stains also the dentist wants to give the second visit. In some cases during cleaning there is bleeding and it is not possible to remove the all deposit .So the dentist do the gross cleaning and call the patient again and when the healing is there all the left out deposits are removed.  There can be number of causes to give the second visit and if  you want to be sure in your case then you can discuss with your dentist.
