How fast does a cavity grow? Will it reach the nerve in a year? My insurance only wants to pay for visits once a year, but will cavities that I get grow really big if I only go once a year?

  • It is difficult to comment that at what rate the cavities grow. If you keep the area clean and do not let the food particles into the decayed tooth then some times it takes years for the pulp to get involved but some times it is involved with in couple of months. So if you go yearly and get the checkup done and get the filings done than there should not be any reason for the teeth to get decayed if you maintain good oral hygeine.
