Hi, My 10yr old son has front teeth that ride up against each other, causing misalignment of his incisors and canines. Each tooth is growing twisted and his gum sticks out on those. No one else in the family has this and so I wasn't really paying much attention till now. Should I be concerned about this? Does he need braces to get them back into alignment? Thanks, Kumar.

  • If your child is 10 years old and canines are already erupted and the teeth are not in alignment, it means he needs orthdontic treatment in which braces are put to align the teeth. Whether extraction has to be done or not will be decided by the orthodontist. It is the right age for your child to get this sort of treatment done. This treatment takes around 18-24 months to align the teeth. For more info on braces, you can read this article on our website.... www.identalhub.com/article_why-do-we-need-braces-160.aspx
