is it normal for front teeth to be slightly transparent at the edges? does this mean the enamel is eroding? i recently brushed more that usual - would this have caused the transparency or could it be that i just never noticed it before?

  • Transparency at the edges of teeth is because of wearing of enamel. When the enamel becomes thin at the edges, it becomes transparent. Normally in health teeth which shows no wearing are not transparent. This transparency can be due to over brushing or because of edge to edge bite. Your lower teeth cause the wearing of the upper teeth due to touching.  For this you have to visit the dentist who after clinical exam will find out the extent of wearing and if necessary will do the composite buildups.
