I was eating a piece of candy and my bridge pulled out. Should I try to reinsert it or just leave it out? I have a dental appointment mid next week.

  • Bridge is attached to the tooth structure with luting cement which is a biocompatible material. Bridge has to be inserted by dentist only. Even if you reinsert it, it will fall out. Ideally, bridge should not come out.  Try to reschedule your appointment if you can and get the bridge fixed asap. Extrusion of the teeth may occur if the bridge is not inserted after it comes out.  By the time you get the bridge inserted, maintain good oral hygiene and avoid eating from that side.  You can do warm saline rinses to reduce any secondary infection.
