  • The swelling and pain can be due to trauma. The trauma causes injury and can lead to necrosis of pulp. The pulp gets degenerated and hence there is pain and swelling. You have not written when you got hit. You can use cold compresses on that area which will decrease the swelling and you have to visit your dentist who will give you pain killers and take xray to see if any fracture of root and surrounding bone is there or not and accordingly treatment will be done. Avoid biting from front teeth and do warm saline rinses. From outside you can do cold compresses.
