  • Pain 5 monthsafter tooth extraction can be because of food accumulates in the area where tooth was removed. Food accumulates in the extraction socket area can cause pain. Apart from that, pain can be because of gum infection in that area or can be because of because of some other infected tooth. Without clinical examination, we can’t give definite diagnosis. For definite diagnosis, you have to refer to your dentist. If pain is because of food accumulates or gum infection in that area, then you can do warm saline rinses for some relief. Maintain good oral hygiene to avoid any food deposits in the missing tooth area. If any tooth is removed apart from wisdom tooth, it needs to be replaced. For replacement of missing tooth, you can get dental implants or can opt for dental bridges. Dental implants are the best option for replacement of missing teeth. Missing tooth if not replaced can lead to misalignment of teeth, speech problems and various periodontal problems.
