My sister is 28 year old and her tooth are protruded. I just wanted to know whether we can fix her problem through any dental surgery and if yes then how much time will it take to fully recovery.

  • Corrective jaw surgery or orthognathic surgery can be done to correct the protruded teeth. This surgery can be used to correct minor and major skeletal and dental irregularities. Corrective jaw surgery is done in one day but with corrective jaw surgery, braces will be required after treatment to correct the teeth.  Your sister can also get dental braces to make her teeth straight. Adults of age 30-40 years can also get dental braces to correct the alignment of teeth. Your sister can opt for ceramic or lingual dental braces which don’t look that conspicuous. Invisaligns which are clear, removable aligners can also be given to correct the alignment of teeth. If there is only slight protrusion of teeth, then cosmetic procedures like dental lumineers, veneers or crowns can also be given to correct the alignment of teeth. Your sister can visit an orthodontist for evaluation. After clinical examination and after making the study models, orthodontist can tell your sister that which method will be most suitable for her.
