I had a root canal on a tooth and the crown fell off. Dentist recommends i get an implant. I cannot afford this. This original root of the tooth is intact and in the proper location. Can I wait six months until I can afford to get the implant to do it? What would the long term consequences of this action be?

  • If the crown part of tooth is missing and root is intact and is not causing any problem then you can go for post and core if possible and above that crown can be put. Your dentist will decide whether it is possible or not depending on the condition of the tooth. Otherwise you have to get it pulled out and go for implants or fixed dental bridge. Temporarily you can go for flipper also. If you donot get the tooth replaced then the antagonist tooth can be supraerupted and the adjacent teeth can also tilt causing the problem afterwards.
