Hi, I went to the dentist today to have my wisdom tooth extracted, He was unable to remove it because the tooth has decayed and kept crumberling every time he tryed removing it, he made a small incission but was still unsuccesable. The tooth has loosened up though. He refered me to a dental specialist for another day. Can I still smoke untill the tooth has been extracted?

  • It is better if you donot smoke till the wisdom tooth is fully extracted as the extraction site is open and incision is given. smoking can cause the negative pressure and can dislodge the clot and the extraction site can get infected which can lead to pain and swelling. It is better to schedule an appointment with specialist ie Oral Surgeon, asap and get the wisdom tooth extracted.
