Have some decay between back molars, been there about a year. If I do need root canals, will it be on both teeth that the decay is between? If teeth barely hurt and not all the time, not to hot at all, will I even need root canals?Heading to dentist ASAP, but may be awhile.

  • It is not necessary that you will be needing root canal treatment. In both the teeth, as root canal treatment is done when the decay is deep and pulp is infected. In that case you have symptoms of hot and cold sensation or pain which is almost constant. You dentist will take xay and do the clinical examination and then decide whether of the two teeth which are decayed will be needing the root canal treatment. In your case as you have mentioned that there is no pain to hot sensation, you may not be needing root canal treatment but this will decided by your dentist after thorouh examination.
