baby tooth was extracted yesterday from my 13 yr old daughter -- after 24 hours passed she had some soup however a piece of a potato went into socket other then warm salt rinses to try and dislodge is there anything else we can do to try and get it out - can she try and uses a tooth brush etc.. it is over 24 hours since tooth was extracted Thank you

  • To remove food accumulates from the socket, apart from warm saline rinses, tweezers can be used. After 24 hours, soft tooth brush can be used to clean the area but make sure not to irritate the tooth extraction socket area too much. She can avoid eating from that side of tooth extraction socket and can take the meds as prescribed. She can continue with warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day for faster healing to take place and should keep the extraction socket clean to avoid any secondary infections.
