My silver filling in the tooths been paining from 4 days, i got the procedure done 5yrs back, its a mild pain

  • Pain can be because of secondary caries below dental filling or can be because of marginal fracture of filling. Secondary dental caries can occur below dental filling because of gap between filling and tooth structure which causes micro leakage and pain. Marginal fracture of dental filling can also lead to pain and sensitivity in the filled tooth. Gum infection in relation to tooth can also lead to mild pain. Refer to your dentist to get your tooth evaluated. If there is secondary caries present, then refilling is done. Old amalgam filling is removed and caries are removed and then new dental filling is done. If fractured filling is reason of pain, then also refilling is done. If dental caries has reached the pulp, then root canal treatment will be required.
