I have a fake front tooth/crown on it and for the last 6 months I see that on the top of the tooth the gum area is a dark color, almost like its bruised and it is extremly bothersome to me when I smile and see it in pictures because its noticable. Is there anyway to get rid of the bruised like color on my gum?

  • If the crown is quite old then sometimes because of the tooth growth or receding gums, margins of the tooth become visible and as in PFM Crowns, there is metal inside, so it has black lining, which is normally covered by the gums and is not visible. Now either you have to get the crown changed  or if the gums are inflammed then you have to get the treatment of gums done. If you are going for change then you can opt for all ceramic crown, as this problem does not occur in them.
